The office of Fuesanta Nieto and Enrique Sobejano was founded in 1984 in Madrid. In 2007 their Berlin office followed. Having studied at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and the Columbia University in New York City they now continue teaching at the UEM in Madrid and the Universität der Künste in Berlin (UDK). Their office covers a large programmatic spectrum, ranging from museums to hotels, offices, housing and urban design often dealing with the question of renovation and the relation between the old and the new. They received a number of prestigious prizes and distinctions such as the Aga Khan Award in 2010 or the Piranesi Prix de Rome in 2011 as well as several nominations for the Mies van der Rohe Prize. Their work has been featured in exhibitions at the Architecture Biennial in Venice in 2000, 2002, 2006 and 2012, at the MoMA in New York in and the Kunsthaus Graz.
