La lumière des villes est un élément essentiel de notre environnement construit. Les villes romandes, à l’image de Lausanne, se dotent de plans lumière pour notre sécurité et notre confort mais aussi pour renforcer leur identité. Quels sont les outils de réflexion et de développement utilisés ?
Comment passe-t-on d’un plan lumière au choix d’une technologie adaptée ? L’éclairage public représente une source d’économie. Comment concilier prix et qualité de la lumière ? La LED vous déprime ? Si la lumière est un matériau complexe et fascinant pour un artiste, que représente pour vous, habitants des villes, l’éclairage public ? Enfin, la lumière est aussi source de joie et d’inspiration. Trouve-t-on encore un peu de poésie dans tout cet éclairage ?

6a ARCHITECTS // ENGLAND

6a architects was founded by Stephanie Macdonald and Tom Emerson in 2001. Stephanie Macdonald studied  fine art at Portsmouth College of Art, architecture at the Mackintosh School of Architecture and the Royal College of Art. Tom Emerson studied architecture in the University of Bath and also at the Royal College of Art. Their practice has become one of the leading architectural practices in the UK. Recent projects include the extension to the South London Gallery and Raven Row gallery that was distinguished with an Riba Award in 2011. Two years later they were nominated to the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture - Mies van der Rohe Award 2013. Recently 6a architects was awarded the Eric Schelling Medal for Architecture. Since 2010, Tom Emerson is Professor of Architecture at the ETH Department of Architecture in Zurich.

THAM VIDEGARD ARKITEKTER // SWEDEN

Bolle Tham (1970) and Martin Videgård (1968) studied architecture in the Royal Institute of Tecnology, School of Architecture in Stockholm where they graduated in 1997. Two years later they founded Tham & Videgård Arkitekter based in Stockholm, Sweden. Their practice has been awarded prizes and nominations in several open international competitions. Among their achievements, they won the Kalmar Museum of Art competition, that lately was awarded the Kasper Salin Prize 2008, and shortlisted for the Mies van der Rohe Award 2009 among other distinctions. Beyond their practice, they also teach and lecture regularly. This year they are visiting professors in the Peter Behrens School of Architecture in Germany.

Sous le soleil depuis des siècles, le patrimoine craint l'ombre des capteurs solaires.
Les exigences de la nouvelle loi vaudoise sur l'énergie provoquent des craintes. Mesure-t-on bien l'impact des nappes de panneaux solaires sur le paysage construit ? S'agit-il simplement d'un nouvel élément de construction qu'il faut apprivoiser et apprendre à intégrer ? Quelles sont les bonnes manières et qui en décide ?
La dispersion de la production d'énergie est-elle durable?

dePAOR ARCHITECTS // IRELAND

Tom dePaor was born in London in 1967 and grew up in the west of Ireland. He studied at the Dublin Institute of Technology and University College Dublin, where he graduated. In 1991 he founded his practice and since worked extensively in residential, commercial and public building, winning several AAI and RIAI awards. In 2003 he received the Corus/BD Young Architect of the Year distinction. In 2000 he was appointed to design the inaugural Irish Pavilion for the 7th International Architecture Biennale in Venice. He also took part in the Irish group show for the 2006 Architecture Biennale and in 2010 he was also selected to present his work as part of the main exhibition of the 2010 Venice Biennale. The work of Tom dePaor has been published and exhibited widely.
